City of Sin Interlude [NSFW]

He wasn't sure why this was the answer.

Maybe it was simply something he could do. Maybe it was a distraction for Jacob, who felt every bit as wound up and anxious as he did, waiting for an answer. Maybe it was because fuck it. They could. They had the space, the time, the privacy. And it had been overdue for some time now.

That was how Jacob was going to find himself with his back pressed up against the door, and for a brief moment seeing Charles staring at him oh so very intently, before the larger man pressed in to take his lips in a sudden kiss.

For him, this is the reminder that he is here. Safe. Here in his arms, and he is not going to lose him. He refuses to. And he's going to make dead certain that Jacob understands just what he means to him...

An Outlaw and an Assassin Walk Into A Bar...

It is perhaps a cautionary tale, of sorts. One can never be too careful in a world that is steadily shrinking, and its people more and more distrusting of those who were different in their midst. Either of them traveling alone might not draw notice. There were plenty of displaced Indians or freed men moving about the country just now, and even the odd visitor or two from abroad would be considered curious, but little more than that.

Together, as they had been traveling for months now, they made a far more distinctive pair. More memorable. Neither of them had wanted posters as such, but it meant that any toe out of line would be viewed with much more scrutiny. Sometimes it was amusement, or confusion.

Sometimes, different meant dangerous.

Charles had never really been one to enjoy the solaces of civilization, but small towns like this made him equally as on edge, for other reasons entirely. Too many people was bad. Too few, too curious and tightly-knit and opposed to strange men near their property, could be just as bad. Perhaps more so. Here civility was a gossamer-thin veneer too easily stripped away without other men present to judge.

It's little wonder he spends almost no time downstairs at the tavern proper, preferring their rented room for the evening. It's less nervousness than it is a steady tension maintained throughout the evening, including when he steps out onto the balcony for a smoke and a discreet look at the number of men piling into the tavern below.

Overwatch/Red vs Blue CR Meme

So how does this all work, exactly?

Those familiar with the Overwatch canon know that the organization was responsible for fighting back during the Omnic Crisis thirty years ago. When the war ended, Overwatch endured as a peacekeeping force, with Blackwatch working their covert side and reaching where they couldn't. Blackwatch eventually got the whole thing shut down with their shady shit going public.

Sound familiar?

So in this version of events, Dr Leonard Church's Project Freelancer exists as another covert operation -- perhaps even working with Overwatch, if not for it -- working on developments that could be used in the battlefield to defuse or prevent further catastrophes in the future. Maybe even another Crisis. But someone's got a hard-on for their dead wife. Bad shit ensued. The whole thing falls apart, the agents scatter, and the sim troopers? Probably got forgot about and left wherever they were stationed. And this will be the point we come in on.

Overwatch folks get to decide what side of the ensuing chaos their folks wound up on, their preferred locale, and what they're doing in the present day. RvB folks get pretty much the same option, but with the addition of whatever nifty powers/enhancements they figure they were given as part of the program, to put them on the level with the OW cast. This is optional, you can be normal as you please! Just an option for those who want the opportunity to go toe-to-toe with someone like Reaper, for example.

Maybe one day, kids. If you're real good, and eat all your vegetables.

So let's get to plotting! Top Level with your name, and just copy/paste the following for each of your characters. Then, hit up other people to determine where you guys wanna start things off.

A post will follow this one with various locations, starters, and prompts for the different factions. I'll leave 'em vague so you can plot on the fly if you want. Any questions, just let me know.

Okay, ya'll know what it is.

Chime in with who you are, and who you want to play, either from RvB or Overwatch. Duplicates are fine, this is just a setting sandbox to have fun.

The Tartarus had left a mark on both of them. They'd escaped with their lives and relatively little damage, but Wash hadn't really come back down from the edge since then. He still looked run ragged, tired, the shadows under his eyes all the more pronounced. He ran drills, and when he wasn't running drills, he was on patrol, or reviewing recon, or anything at all that he might be able to do beyond sleep.

Because when he did? When he was finally lured back to his bed and tried, more often than not he woke up thrashing, screaming, or some variant of the two. So no. No, he didn't sleep much anymore.

And to Tucker's frustration, he wasn't talking to anyone about it, either.

There was no point to it. Things would correct themselves over time, or...or they wouldn't. And he'd be dealt with then. He didn't need Tucker or Gray or anyone else worrying about him right now.

He had this.

Okay kids. This is a self-governed player contact list so we can keep track of who's who and how to get in touch for plotty reasons.

How's that work you ask? Simple. You post with your info, and alter it as necessary. Feel like dropping a character from the roster? Just an edit away. New email address? Just jot it in.

No waiting for updates to a list here. Just take the template below and go.
